APPLICATIONS

In order to keep the number of players from getting overwhelming for the mods, all applications are processed in a queue in the order submitted and characters are accepted as space becomes available (either as space in the game is increased or other characters are removed from the game). Acceptance into the queue does not guarantee entrance to the game; unless there are glaring errors in the application (such as a missing section) or moderator concerns, all applications go into the queue based on the time of reserve (if applicable) or submission.

There are two queues, one for newly arrived characters and one for those who are already residents of Hex. At the time of game opening, there will be twelve slots for new arrivals and twelve for current residents, discounting moderator characters. (Moderator characters apped in after game start will be a part of the queue.) The remaining four slots in the game will go to whichever fills up first.

Post your applications to this entry in the following format: First comment should contain the OOC information section only. Successive comments should be posted in reply to that comment, as many as you need. Moderator responses will be appended to the last comment of the application.

Character abilities:

Mundane
- She went to school regularly until she was 14 and has that kind of knowledge. She also has a fairly expansive knowledge about drugs and knows how to generally survive without money or a support system in a big city.
- She used to be a good pickpocket and was a good fighter in weaponless combat, though without rules or grace.
- She speaks Swedish, STS (Swedish sign language), English and Danish (if she concentrates, you won't be able to tell that Danish is an acquired language, for her, either).
- Computers have always fascinated her, and she was very much on top of the latest developments up until a few years before her pull-point, when she lost access.

Vampire
- Her looks might give her a lot of disadvantages, but they also give her advantages: Her bat ears give her sonar hearing. Her snake head supplies her with a tongue that can smell, taste and feel vibrations at a much higher rate than humans and also heat vision (her fangs however are not poisonous). Her fur gives her additional protection against injury and the cold, her talons and her tail can be used for additional damage in close combat (aggravated and bashing, respectively), and her rat feet allow her to climb and balance better, which her tail helps with also. Her wings support her balance, too, though they aren't big enough to allow her to fly. The spinnerets on her abdomen can create sticky webbing that can immobilize an opponent.
- Animalism 2 (empathic communication with animals, giving orders to animals, calling all animals of a species that are around)
- Fortitude 3 (greater stamina/toughness, offers a chance to not be hurt by things that would otherwise cause grievous injuries: Fire, sunlight, vampire bites, werewolf claws, etc.)
- Protean 4 (seeing normally in absolute darkness {eyes will glow red}, making claws that cause terrible damage on hands and feet, melting into the earth, turning into an animal form {a fox and an owl})
- Dominate 1 (giving a one-word order to one person)
- Sturdier than a human would be, but at the same time she won't heal with time: She has to pointedly heal even the tiniest scratch. That in turn is a lot faster than running around with your arm in a cast for weeks, though.
- Easily hurt by sunlight and fire, has to sleep during the day, doesn't breathe, has no body heat, cannot eat/drink anything but blood.
- She can psychologically bind someone to her by feeding them some of her own blood - in the case of humans and animals, that will also make them more intelligent, immortal and give them supernatural abilities, as long as she keeps up feeding them blood in regular intervals.

Intended decay path:

The logical decay path for her would be Promethean, as the story that I want to explore with her is a return to humanity. But being hit with the drawbacks of being a Promethean might scar her into not being playable/enjoyable to play anymore, so I would like to go with the second most logical option, which would be...

Werewolf. I'm not sure about specifics yet, but for one other vampire clans like to claim that Gangrel and Werewolves are kind of similar and probably get along well when they try (neither of which is really true), so it would be funny to me, and it fits the story that I wish to explore with Malin, as her wish to return to humanity is more correctly described as wanting to find a place where she can be part to a group that grants her a feeling of belonging and systematic safety (I'm still trying to find a proper phrasing fff).

Her history would be the same up to the point where she encounters her first vampire, except for that she would be younger by two years for all of it. The encounter would end differently: Instead of being embraced, she would manage to fight off the attacker, turning into her Crinos for for the first time. She doesn't know if the guy that attacked her is still alive or not after that, but she turns tail and runs, leaving Copenhagen and heading up north. The little knowledge about what she might be and more importantly what the vampire thinks about those like her made her figure running a very good idea.

...Just that she doesn't get very far, though the ones that catch her this time are humans, not vampires. Again there'd have been experiments that she finally manages to run from due to being underestimated - they likely quickly figured out that the specimen that they had captured this time wasn't nearly as powerful as the others that they'd gotten, and lightened security protocols. She runs again and ends up in Hex, having heard that there are others like her there, somewhere. She doesn't know what she's looking for, doesn't even have a name for it, or at least she assumes that the names that she has wouldn't be what they call themselves.

All her life, she's survived by her own wits, but her two close brushes with the reaper man have taught her that she won't make it alone this time - she might be stronger, but the dangers in her life suddenly grew exponentially bigger, too. And unlike with her situation as a vampire, those people that she seems to belong to aren't the ones/the species that she is running from.

So she's lurking around Hex, trying to find a hint as to where to proceed from here. She has the vague feeling that she won't even be wanted, but she at least needs to try.

This would be the point where her decay history would be at as she regains it.

Stigmatic glitch:

It is slightly colder where she walks (courtesy of the polar circle winter that she came from).
